This well-crafted home, originally designed by Doylestown architect Lynn Taylor, has its kitchen, living room, and master bedroom all situated on different levels. Our client wanted to make this multi-level home wheelchair accessible without sacrificing any of the handsome details or expansive views. The addition and renovations included two interior ramps with cherry finishes to match the existing floor and woodwork, and a new cherry railing to match the original stair railings. The narrow addition includes a ramp from the kitchen down to the master bedroom wing. The bank of double-hung windows and the skylights on this ramp bring natural light into the living room and make a sunny transition space. A new flagstone terrace at the master bedroom level allows easy access to outdoor dining.
