Michener Museum Children’s Gallery

The education wing at the James A. Michener Museum was created by renovating existing space in the original building of the museum that was built in 1988 within the old prison walls. The program for the education wing included a Children’s Gallery and two new classrooms, with the requirement that the classrooms could easily be opened into one large classroom when needed. The renovations included new partitions, flooring, lighting, and built-in cabinets. This project also included a major renovation of the commercial kitchen, including all new equipment.
